Former Spain striker Fernando Morientes has revealed the health scare that led to him being hospitalized and nearly dying.

Morientes suffered a pulmonary embolism, a serious condition in which a blood clot blocks an artery in the lungs, and required five days of treatment.
The former Real Madrid แทงบอล UFABET ราคาดีที่สุด ไม่มีขั้นต่ำ and Liverpool forward, now a TV presenter, told Spanish radio station Tiempo de Juego: “I feel unwell after a lot of travelling. At one point I felt pain in my chest, a stabbing pain just below my breastbone.”
“I thought it was something to do with my stomach and didn’t want to go to the hospital. But that night I felt something and rushed to the doctor. The doctor started examining my heart but didn’t see anything until he found fluid in my pleura. It was a pulmonary embolism.”
“It was a blood clot that formed in my knee due to excess air on the plane and in the car. My blood started to thicken with air and pushed up into my lungs. I was in the hospital for five days and almost died.”
Thankfully, he indicated that a full recovery will be possible though doctors have told him he would ‘have to choose his travels more carefully’.
